Banksy inspired series
With this series of images I started flicking backwards in my mind what happened at the near beginning of the Lockdown where I remember the country ran out of loo roll where we was unable to ration our luxuries and essentials. But as I started to create this serise of posters I found a Banksy street art vibe. Banksy is an anonymous identified artist... still to one confirmed... but Banksy's known got his street art and I feel like this series of posters have found that aesthetic when I started making this series... this series came by me experimenting with the Mobile Photoshop from using a photo of me holding a reel of loo roll with a face mask on... very 2020 friendly! Then the magic began!
This here is the photo I took of myself COVID friendly!
Stage 2
This stage here I decided to experiment with the Mobile Photoshop which I had to experiment with as it is different to the Photoshop on the Macs but still very good and exciting to experiment with. on this one, there is filters you can apply on your photo which I did there I like the idea of the bubbly background to give the impact of a get clean and remove suds to remove the virus.
Stage 3
With this stage I took it a step further and tested my skills a little bit as I then decided to add a wall effect, after experimenting with series 7 posters, I liked this idea and I transformed this image onto Adobe PC photoshop to get this effect, experimenting with gradient, blend modes and opacity to create this dynamic image. Stage 3 applies to the rest of these posters below, where I explored and experiment with colour as I have my founding love for colour theory- I like to apply my experimentation with colour theory which you may of noticed in previous designs.
and the Banksy Vibe begins here...
These pieces of work reminds me of a similar aesthetic to Banksy's street art.
This series here I like, because I like the colour choices of these images I really like how the red and the luminous wall background contrasts helping the person in the image stand out. I created this series of posters to show 2020 summed up in a picture.

This concept of my designs here are inspired by the beginning of the lockdown where earlier in the year probably about March April time there was blue roll poverty literally there was no food there was no loo rolls in the shop anywhere and so this is basically all about how old are the roles gone how people tend to hoard have they kind of take things for granted and basically the whole idea with people buying so much for the panic buying roll and the food is because of the lockdown we've never had a lockdown is so extreme as this and no one knew how long it would be more anything like that John was stock piling for however long lockdown was going to be. And I couldn't forget about the loo roll situation because at the time it was somewhat bizarre to have run out of toilet roll and tissues of any kind because it's such a random object which makes you think really that you don't realise the little things and how quickly you can miss something and how quick you the world is for taking things for granted.
Banksy
Banksy's work
Come now who doesn't love banksy is one of the most well-known artist today and he is known for his street and I have really grown to really like his art and starting to understand like his reasons for his work and what it means. For me with banks say like looking at his work it's very powerful it has emotive meaning some of his work it's almost like he's found his guardian angel if you like and they're trying to give a character wisdom and hope kinder like a I heavenly way.
Banksy has even created a piece based on lockdown
I love this because it shows the strength, courage and vulnerability in one picture, I like the fact there isn't many colours just the red on the cross, which I like because it draws you into the picture, making you see beyond the picture. I feel this image sums up lockdown very well, doctors finding a new scientific breakthrough to fight COVID 19 like monkeys finding evolution and forever developing which is almost what I am gathering with this piece of Banksy's, the goodbye to the old and hello to the new.
The most ironic thing about looking at Banksy for this project is not only because of his imagery based on Lockdown and COVID 19 and where my inspiration for my art comes from but there is the fact that just recently... as for a few days now Banksy has been one of the main trends of the news currently, because of rumoured theories about The mysterious person potentially revealing himself to the face of the world... but in fact this person had to deny this, to keep the identity anonymous.. which is interesting news to grit our teeth into, much more so with the idea of a second lockdown and all the news we have already heard all through this pandemic. Look here! --- https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/art/news/banksy-identity-neil-buchanan-art-attack-bristol-rumour-fake-b404800.html what I like about this theory and find incredibly ironic is that the world has to wear a face mask and basically wear a mask to protect themselves... whilst there's Banksy ding this before these times anonymously and as we have to wear a mask, the theory of finding the identity of Banksy requires removing that anonymous mask! Ironic Huh!
I bet he would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for us medalling kids not following the rules Boris had set for the UK.
As well as the fact that now a piece of work of Banksy's called "The Gorilla in a pink mask" is being removed for the reasons of the excess consumerism.
Someone's Micky take art based on this theory about Banksy's identity!
(Found on google news when you type up Banksy)
Banksy's Art being removed!
