Animation on Covid 19

So for this part of my project, you could say is an added extra, or perhaps classed as the Motion graphics aspects to this project. that and to show my experimentation and skill progression. 

This animation is based on a voice recording interview based on My opinion and views on the pandemic and lockdown. I did this originally for a club I took part in, through my secondary school life, called Unit Radio... here is a link to the website: http://www.unitradio.co.uk Basically I recorded the audio at the near beginning of lockdown about March/April time and I then did an animation based on the audio recording.

Firstly I listened back to my voice recording, to help me create a storyboard/ guide for creating this animation.

Unfortunately this isn't the entirety of my animation sadly, as the animation is quite a big file, which is over 5 mins long! I do apologise for that!  But it's better than nothing!

(It does have some elements of motion graphic elements to this clip.) 

For creating my animation the inspiration for this was my actual experience of living life in the pandemic and in lockdown is and 2020. And to show my opinion as well my views on a current affair. When I made this animation I used the following programs: diary animate, it is Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop, Premiere Pro and After affects. Are use photo shop for some of the photographic imagery have created whereas edited some of that with the saturations and the colours and blend modes et cetera are used illustrator for drawing some of the imagery for this animation I've used animate for during some of the other stations as well for the animation I have used premiere pro for putting the animation together and editing bits in and out of the animation and I have used after affects so some of the animating as well for putting bits together and creating some of the animation also. Creating this animation has really allowed me to improve my software skills and it is enabling me to get used to the Adobe Suite and it allows me to take a step outside my comfort zone by combining  the Adobe Programmes together to make one successful piece of Motion Graphics. 

Evaluation

I think the fact that I managed to create instructive motion graphics to a piece of audio I've put together as I thought it was quite a challenge to be able to put complete audio on top of motion graphics to put together a small film. I think that the audio itself went well also I think the fact that these are my words from the top of my head which makes this animation feel like it's personally my own I think I managed to add some comedy aspects to this animation with the imagery as well as the audio which is always good but at the same time of it being quite comedic it also has a serious side as well because this is my view of the lockdown and Covid when we were in lockdown so this is very accurate and to the point. I think the images quite exciting and the way I've put the animation together Scott is excited as well I think that went well and the storyline of the animation I think is works well as well.

I think there's a few things that could've been a bit better with his Cinemation some of it there is a few bits of audio where it was slightly off at certain points which does annoy me quite a bit but it's something that I can always improve on for next time and there's always good to have ways to improve as they say our is never finished at the end of the day because there's always something you can improve on this animation I also think I could've improved on some of the actual animation footage because there was some points which really antagonise you know that I've watched it is where I've filmed bits where they're slightly glitchy or text boxes in a bit it's not supposed to be and that something that really bugs me have really liked that could've been better as well I feel like with this animation as well summer. Also feel like some of my character design on this animation some of its better than others some of it some more thought about and other bits which I like the fact that I've added different variations of animation into my work and how I've done bits at a more detailed than other bits where it suited it but the same time I feel like it should've had the same amount of detail throughout the animation. I also wished I experimented more with different types of animations also- maybe 3D animation, traditional animation, shadow and sand etc- to get really playful and include more experimentation. 

I enjoyed actually making this animation I enjoyed the challenge of sitting down and really thinking about a big topic across the world and saying that's in the current affairs and making animation I found it enjoyable the fact that it's about something everyone can relate to as well I like doing the audio as well I enjoyed expressing my views on lockdown and I enjoyed it because I was able to improvise bits on the top of my head and it's like a speaking through my mind I'll speaking as it is and really engaging with the topic I enjoy during the characters of the animation and I enjoyed putting the animation together enjoyed editing it all sorts of different aspects of enjoy this animation it's been a interesting experience and it's been quite exciting to experiment and seeing the skill development grow. 

For this animation there was bits I didn't enjoy doing, there bits where it started to cut out on me, where this animation it took me a few months to put together, partly because I've put it off a little bit because there was times where I was making bits of an animation and the computer crashed on me bits of footage was unfindable or it just deleted itself so I had to remake quite a lot of the footage. Which was really annoying!! As I say, some of the animation went wrong some of it glitched some of what I put together I didn't like, where buts cut out and some of the time it felt like some of the footage was a bit rushed. Where creating the footage was taking me so long and it has caused me a bit of stress.  I didn't enjoy that aspect of making the animation as well as the fact that it's taken me a few all nighters as well for me to actually put the animations together and everything not that I don't not that mind it but it's just quite time-consuming and sometimes the fact that it's time because it tends to get overwhelming

Yes I think I would create another animation like this may be on a different topic but if I were I'd like to create another animation similar to this space on a big topic of the world maybe do another one based on Covid and see what I can improve on and maybe improve this animation in the future to see what I can create see what I can do better next time see you at footage I can create. I like the idea of doing an animation and art but motion graphics based on a current situation that people can relate to because not only is it trending that also because people what can understand it and it's something that I find personally relatable as well I like the idea of adding my own creative twist onto the current situation and current affair and adding some comedy in to adding some serious aspects to it as well which I find enjoyable so yes I would do this animation again, or an animation like this but maybe on a different topic or on the same topic but create something different. And maybe even experiment with different types of animation not just the Digital animation is the stop motion animation and the 2-D animation I also like to broaden my animating maybe have a look at other variations as well.
