Artist and Graphic designer Alan Kitching
Alan Kitching
After my Zoom call with Paul the other week, I had a suggestion to look at the work from Alan Kitching, whose work is very typographic and predominately type based. He suggested him to me after seeing my Typographic Sample booklet I created where I experimented with Typography and done art solely on type and suggest I try design concepts similar to Alan Kitching's only difference with his work is his work is done on the print press where as my typographic art has been done on Adobe Illustrator which Illustrator is good for typography because of the cleansliness of the edging of the text and I like the aesthetic of digital art, it makes my work. look sophisticated.
Here is my inspiration for poster series 9.
This piece here by Alan Kitching is the piece Paul showed me for inspiration for poster series 9.
I really like this idea as I have always wanted to try creating art like this.
the thing I like about pieces like this is the simplicity on having typography showing art.
Here is more of Alan Kitchin's work I liked and found interesting to look at visually.
I really liked the colours with this piece, there is some fonts I like where they have stood out with contrasting colours the thing i'm less keen on and as a graphics student it makes me sound like a Pre-maddona, being so fussy and picky but is the fact that there is text onto of text... is an absolute curse to me.
This sort of art with the typography is more my cup of tea, I really like the arrangement of the type and how its all been lined up and I really like the colour scheme chosen for this design- this design works well for my liking and I'd like to try creating something similar in the near future. I like this design here because it works for legibility and colour scheme I quite like the idea of using multiple colours.
This design is very similar to the design Paul showed me but with a different colour scheme and different text but has the same concept and also gives me ideas for future design ideas for poster series.
