Stay Safe, Stay Sane

Image
Stay Safe, Stay Sane Stay safe, stay sane is a website full of COVID 19 inspired Posters, which I came across the other day after having a Zoom call with Paul as I was struggling to find any source of inspiration for the rest of this project due to having a brain fart and artist block, which is never fun. So Paul suggested I try looking at posters on Stay Safe and Stay Sane website, here is the link:  https://www.stay-sane-stay-safe.com/ Here is some designs I found inspiring below: I really like the forth one most there, I like the simplicity and the minimalism of using the red and the black I like how there is a smiley face made using silhouette people to create the eyes and the protective part of there mask, it looked really fascinating to me and I'd like to create something similar. With these designs I like the simplicity of using the computer virus setting aesthetic and update setting to help create a poster design, this is clever and quite inspiring to attempt.  I hope ...

Competition work

Art Moves 2020 Art that moves, is an annual competition to create Billboards based on current affairs Brexit wasn't it? no... not this time... but in this case is about COVID 19 and Corona Virus. This year I decided to take poart, which would make this be my first ever competition to ever be apart of as a Graphic Design student, which is quite Mind blowing especially for myself as a student as it is challenging me to express myself to others as I am very shy and I tend to stay inside the comfort blanket... but this is a big step for myself to create the controversial "Ah I love this piece" and the "Oh what a pile of sh*t"the way I see art is a controversial world as its all a matter of ones opinion of a piece of art- art is subjective! Which is good as I then learn the brutality of the real world.  Anyway enough of me blowing my own trumpet, here are the pieces I submitted for Art that Moves: Entry 1: COVID 19 (SPLAT!) With this piece the design concept came fro...

Poster series 8

Banksy inspired  series With this series of images I started flicking backwards in my mind what happened at the near beginning of the Lockdown where I remember the country ran out of loo roll where we was unable to ration our luxuries and essentials. But as I started to create this serise of posters I found a Banksy street art vibe. Banksy is an anonymous identified artist... still to one confirmed... but Banksy's known got his street art and I feel like this series of posters have found that aesthetic when I started making this series... this series came by me experimenting with the Mobile Photoshop from using a photo of me holding a reel of loo roll with a face mask on... very 2020 friendly! Then the magic began!  This here is the photo I took of myself COVID friendly! Stage 2 This stage here I decided to experiment with the Mobile Photoshop which I had to experiment with...

Colour Theory

Colour Theory The reason as to why I am doing an entry on colour theory is not to be the queen nerd or to bore you stiffless but for me it is one of the core focuses I have used to guide me with my experimentation practices for my series of posters, in which colour theory has enabled me to looked at strategy and reason for my choice of colour scheme, making me refer back n forth to help me with the majority of my decisions on experimental design concepts.  Now incase you're wondering, Colour Theory is an important thing to learn for artists, Graphic designers, illustrators etc as it is something that has made art grow strength to strength and put it this way everything you look at these days is designed, a lot of designs we find graphic designers create, packaging, posters, advertisement, motion picture etc all have elements of colour.  Colour Theory Brain Storm I for one have an undying love for Colour theory as a subject to talk about and ...

Poster Series 7

Typographic Posters 2 This series of typographic posters were designed because I had some critique feedback suggesting that I experiment with the font of my typography as I stuck to Helvetica Neue, I personally have found a liking to this font... (could you not tell! 😂) but the thing I like about that font specifically its legible and easy to comprehend. but I am willing to experiment as I like to experiment I can't lie it is nice to explore what's out there more rather than sticking to the original.  With this series of posters, I created these inspired by a video on YouTube teaching me to create more exciting typography almost like a more graffiti street-art aesthetic after learning to do graffiti typography on 3D materials it was interesting to experiment further with a more diverse and digitalised aesthetic to my work, which I found this exciting and wanted this to show in my work. So I hope you enjoy what you're about to see. as this was me learning as a graphic desig...
