Project Evaluation

Image
Summer Project Evaluation  Mindmap Evaluation For this is summer project I thought it was challenging at that points it's the fact that it's based on the current situation which we are all living in and it's challenging mentally in the sense of being able to complete this project as some of it has been a rollercoaster ride I've had ups and downs of this project I've had highs and I've had low points and it's it's also been challenging in the sense of trying to show you how I can relate to the current situation we are living in which is actually quite depressing and painful as well and I feel like this project because we are living in the moment it is doable and therefore it's relatable so I liked that aspect of this project that we are living in the project it's like we are what we create in this project for me this is sort of how I picture this project and it's quite literally close to home considering the fact that it is based on staying at...

Dear Diary...

Image
TheDiary of a Quarantine Survivor  Dear Diary,                    I remember all the times I was once allowed outside... walking on the rustling leaves, running ragged in the mud, to touch the sand and make a sandcastle, to sing and dance in the rain and to meet friends for a late night pub crawl, All the times I was allowed to go and see a loved one, to hug and kiss a my close family and other loved ones and to explore the world and lap it up on holiday with the sun cooking us and enjoying the sights. The times I was allowed to sing HO HO HO, or trick or treat... and to go to work and uni like a typical human being. I can't even go out and make friends, by the end of the lockdown if it does end, I'm gonna have no friends in sight! But now it's now its no more! Now its time to kiss that good bye,  to say Adios and bon voyage to Liberty and to our freedom! As we say our prayers to the outside world as I know it... as in 3- 2- 1 ...

Diary notes and draft

Diary of a Surviving Quarantined Student Notes for Diary entry & Evaluation With some guidance from my dad, he helped me bullet point things to address for a diary entry so I can write my evaluative diary showing my views on Lockdown, how it effected me and what the new norm is and reflecting on the emotive side of Lockdown and Covid 19.  Here's my drafted diary entry Drafted Diary

Makaton Posters

Image
Posters in Makaton The idea behind this concept of posters is to create designs in Makaton, for those who doesn't know what Makaton is it's a form of sign language for those with hard of hearing, deaf or those who have speech and language disorders or any kind of learning difficulty where understanding verbal communication challenging.   I chose to design some poster designs in Makaton because I learnt some of the sign language in my Primary School and I learnt the Alphabet in Makaton and how to count and how to say good morning and good afternoon etc. Seeing as this pandemic is a globalised issue I did a PDF booklet on words stay home, stay safe and save lives in different languages across the world but seeing as sign language and Makaton is another language I wanted to try doing a couple of designs based on that so those who struggle with communication and have learnt sign language will understand some of the text. ...

Stay Safe Stay Sane

Image
Stay safe, Stay sane After learning that one of the biggest things said and written on Posters about COVID 19 I decided to create some experiments so this bonus feature is showing some experiments I put together using those words, to see what I can come up with- using the Adobe programmes to help me create. This serise of experiments is inspired by the works of what I saw on the Stay safe, stay sane Poster website and thought I'd create some design concepts of my own.  Stay Safe, Stay Sane This design reminds me of one of the CBBC logo with the colour scheme of this design and the type design is similar but in a different font. The idea of the germ splats is an added detail with COVID 19 being a virus.  CBBC Logo See what I mean now?! Rainbows These designs are all experiments based on the design above... I used the rainbow background colours because rainbows was one of the biggest symbols of 2020, for supporting the NHS when we were in Lockdown. Here is a zoomed in ...

1 second everyday!

Image
1 Second Everyd ay This entry is about- its going to be about the journey I have taken through lockdown through Photos and videos about the moments of life at home 24/7 and to life as we know it today... it hits the nuts but here is my daily movie showing you what went on.  there are two clips because I had swapped phones so I have 2 movies, to show. hope you enjoy my highlights of lockdown and to this summer.  Here is the App The  one second every day  is a mobile app where you can take photos or the snippets of a video on a daily basis recording your journey and your experiences in the moment.  Part 1 (June-July) Part 2 (August-October) (I did manage to put these videos together but the file was "too big" for Blogger apparently!!) I enjoyed showing the day and the life of Lockdown 2020, its going to be the year added to the history books of the world! it was nice watching back all the flashbacks from 2020! Lets...

Bonus mini series: Golden Rules

Image
Golden rules This series of posters is based on COVID 19 golden rules, the rules that we have had to abide with for the majority of 2020 and still have to currently. I designed this series just out of spontaneous experimentation... I designed these on an Adobe Programme called Adobe Spark  its a programme where it gives you templates you can use or design your own, but it gives you design ideas and concepts for designing posters, postcards etc and there was a template on there called "I will do something big!" and I used that template and put my own words in there and changed the colour scheme, I liked the typeface used on this design and I like how ive used colour theory for my experimentation process, this series I am experimenting with colour, what works well and what doesn't work as well.  I enjoyed experimenting with a new Adobe programme spontaneously because it bought me out of my comfort zone and gave me more conceptional ideas to bring into my des...

Animation: Covid 19

Image
Animation on Covid 19 So for this part of my project, you could say is an added extra, or perhaps classed as the Motion graphics aspects to this project. that and to show my experimentation and skill progression.  This animation is based on a voice recording interview based on My opinion and views on the pandemic and lockdown. I did this originally for a club I took part in, through my secondary school life, called Unit Radio... here is a link to the website:  http://www.unitradio.co.uk  Basically I recorded the audio at the near beginning of lockdown about March/April time and I then did an animation based on the audio recording. Firstly I listened back to my voice recording, to help me create a storyboard/ guide for creating this animation.  Here is the Storyboard below: Storyboard: Animation A trailer for my Animation Unfortunately this isn't the entirety of my animation sadly, as the animation is quite a big file, which is over 5 mins long! I do apologise for tha...

Summing up COVID 19 in Motion Graphics

Image
Animation Summing up 2020 & COVID 19  For this piece of motion graphics, you'll find what you see is what you get with the title for this entry... this footage is for an animation summing up 2020 with the journey through COVID 19 and the Lockdown we encountered .   The inspiration for this animation was on COVID 19, 2020 and on the Time Line research I did for this project. I'd say the target audience for this piece is suited for anyone who had witnessed and lived this pandemic but I would say because there are a couple of swear jar words in this animation I can't say this one is aimed for children, I'd say more teens and up but seeing as you get kids playing GTA these days... who knows- they may like it.  This was a mini animation I wanted to create to experiment and demonstrate my skill progression. The programmes I have used for these animations are Adobe Animate and Premiere Pro .  I used Adobe Animate for creating the footage on the animation (Basically t...

COVID 19 timeline

Image
Timeline To help me research what has been going on with the virus is not only by living in the lockdown days found a couple of timelines for COVID 19 all the events that went on across the world which is one I have focused on but I also wanted to look at the English timeline for COVID 19, but I realise a lot of what's on that is on the global one too but I felt it still be good for research purposes.  Here is the websites: (UK lockdown timeline) https://eachother.org.uk/uk-coronavirus-timeline-from-liberty-to-lockdown/ (Global timeline) https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/coronavirus-timeline-tracking-critical-moments-covid-19-n1154341 These websites have really helped with my research for understanding the virus more and for knowing what went on day by day- it is interesting to see how much has happened in one whole year, not just for ourselves, for the country and all across the world as we sometimes forget how much can go on in 12 months- how crazy is our world...
