Typographic Website This website was suggested from Paul through a Zoom call at the near beginning of this project. This website shows people's designs from across the world- where the majority of the imagery and designs on there were typographic.  https://www.typographicposters.com/?filter=recent I have mentioned this website in the diary before, but I wanted to talk about it on here as a lot of typographic designs I have recently created have inspired me and helped me with ideas and design concepts for Many of the posters I have created.   Here is some examples of poster designs I came across on this website. Examples of posters I found on the webpage.  (There are many more examples explored & researched- mentioned in my diary for this project which is on an In-design PDF file.

Poster Series 3

Image
Poster Series 3 This third series of posters is based on Corita Kent's screen print, the 10 Rules. The idea occurred to me because 2020 has been the year of the rules- as has every other year, but this year the rules have well and truly rolled in. so this is the 10 rules remade into a more modernistic way putting my own spin on it. Applying the current affairs, COVID 19 and everything the world and the nation is going through currently, following strict rules and regulations made by the one and only Boris Johnson... This series of imagery is basically the same piece but I experimented with colour scheme for the background. Enjoy flicking through these designs.                         Poster 1: *White  Poster 2: *Pink Poster 3: *Green Poster 4: *Black & Red Poster 5: *Blue & Black Poster 7: Black & White Poster 8: *Red & White Poster 9: *Blue & White...

Poster series 2

Image
Poster designs Series 2 This second series of posters- is going to be based on Shephard fairly's Hope poster he made back in 2008. I found his imagery quite inspiring and wanted to include a segment or two of his aesthetic to my work, to enable me to create in another artist's aesthetic as opposed to my own.  I found his style very iconic and I have grown to like the street art he creates and wanted to try experimenting using his design techniques- ie: using the same colour scheme and the arrangement of the composition.  This piece is the motherland for this series of posters- I spent three days drawing this digital drawing- of myself- based on a recent photo I took of myself with "my new look" despite this originally, I did this piece for a bit of fun really, to capture the the new look and I couldn't help but find a love to this piece after hearing feedback from people about this image also- it made me want to come up with an excuse for this piece to intertwine ...

How to design a Poster

Image
How to design a poster I wanted to do an entry on how to design posters- it doesn't sound all that exciting but, I feel if I have to design a serise of posters- I figured it would be a good idea to look at the fundamentals of a poster, how to attract an audience, what persuasive techniques could I add, what colours to consider- all those questions basically.  I thought it would be good to show my thought process and my ideas generation.  This blog entry may make you feel like you're back in an English class- discussing language techniques and what they mean but to create a psoter- I think these techniques will be good to help with my research. Here is what I found on a google search:- How To Design a Poster From Scratch Identify the goal of your poster. Consider your target audience. Decide where you want to share your poster. Select a pre-made poster template. Pick a relevant or branded  color  scheme. Include a clear call to action. Use varied fonts to create visua...

Graphic designer:- Shephard Fairey

Image
Shephard Fairey Shephard Fairey is an American street artist, Graphic designer and illustrator, he is best known for the piece: Hope- a poster made in 2008- when Barack Obama was running for presidency for the second time.  Hope: Shephard Fairey This piece of Graphic Design is very political orientated and it has a strong ethic for propaganda and democracy and for persuasion and promotion, in a political way of marketing. Selling the iconic president to be. This poster represents the hope to pick the best man for president. This design was designed back in 2008, in which Fairey felt there was hope for Barack Obama to lead the country. The target audience is mostly aimed towards the American citizens because Obama is an American president and Fairey is trying to create a publication in a simplistic way of trying to persuade  it’s  audience to standby Obama. The colour scheme for this poster is very strong, a strong element of red and blue which most would associate both co...
